Where did Mother's Day come from?
Mother's Day first arose in the United States in 1908, when teacher Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her mother and her work with a special day. Since 1919, Mother's Day has been celebrated in Sweden, and it was thanks to the writer Cecilia Bååth-Holmberg. It was she who introduced Mother's Day on the last Sunday in May, when, according to her, there were lots of flowers and greenery in the country.
